Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to our Tipsy Bear FAQs—we’ve compiled answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our wine tasting classes to help you get the most out of your experience.
The idea came from hearing stories about black bears in Virginia helping themselves to ripe grapes every now and then. Apparently, this also happens in California and bears have been caught on camera in the vineyards. The name and logo make me laugh, and usually, after a few tastes, my wine events guests are laughing too.
Before the event:
- Find a common space for the group to gather.
- Think about who you would like to share this experience with and what their wine preferences are.
- For corporate events, think about if this will be a hybrid event where people participate virtually and in person. Several companies have opted for this type of event, and it works well, we just need to plan for it.
- Confirm number of attendees.
The day of the event:
- Have water and light snacks available. Whole Foods, Wegmans, and other specialty grocery or food stores have excellent selections of cheese and light snacks to choose from. If you need some ideas, I’m always happy to help.
Send out reminders to your participants. Tipsy Bear has templates to share along with a calendar to help with timing.
No, unfortunately the Tipsy Bear cannot sell wine. However, I can direct you to my favorite local wine shops and websites that ship wine to Virginia.
I will work with each customer to create a menu and recommend food pairings for their event, however, due to the complexity of allergies and personal tastes, I let hosts decide and purchase their own food.
Twenty people in person maximum. For hybrid/virtual events, there is no limit on virtual attendees (via Teams, phone, etc.).
Short answer, it depends on how many wines we taste during the class and how much fun your group is having! Most tasting classes are typically two hours, which allows me to provide you with a comprehensive experience while keeping the session engaging and enjoyable.
